Transform your experience. Choose the right artist.
Although at real significant or essential times in your life, it may seem you need to rush to get a tattoo. News flash, you don’t. Reasons for running out to get that “emergency tattoo” is not a good idea. It could be a recent death of a loved one or family pet, the birth of a new baby, or even some crazy time you remembered with a friend. Your best bet is to plan accordingly. I know you will want to run to your tattoo artist out of emotion to quickly fire off that message to see if they can get you in like “now,” but it doesn’t work that way. Sure, your artist may fit you in, and if they can, they will, but that always isn’t feasible, nor is it a great idea. Your artist will usually hold a schedule, and they count on their appointments to be honored. Just like they honor others’ time, so should the client.
You should come in with a general idea of what you are looking for and see if someone can handle it immediately, but if that can not be done, make an appointment or give yourself some time to think about it. When you let your mind think about which tattoo you want, the subtleties usually find their way into your idea. These are often the things you should notate to give to the artist to put something together in the best way possible for you. Once you have the tattoo, everything you went through to get it should come together into one sound idea that will leave you with a marking that you will be happy to have for the rest of your life.
If you want to get a tattoo, try looking at a tattoo convention. You will usually find some of the better tattoo artists at tattoo conventions, though not every artist working at a convention is a good tattoo artist, your chances are much better. Why not try the Villian Arts Tattoo Convention?
